Hello Losers xp
So I'm F5'4 SW:148 CW: 133. I've been losing weight for almost 2 months now, with a maintain week in between. Up until a week ago I had been losing weight consistantly and it all fit into what I expected based on my caloric deficit.
I weigh all my foods that aren't already devided in portions (like crackers or something). And I track all my workouts (almost only running and walking). I also calculated my RMR (bmr) online and subtracted 200 calories to be safe. So I'm pretty sure I am not mistaking in what my deficit is. In fact it actually worked perfectly for me up until last week.
I made another post on this asking if anyone had any ideas what I could be doing wrong, but obviously it just looks like I'm plateauing and there are really no solutions to fixing that instantly.
However since I track my weight, meals, and deficits for every day on an app I went back to the days my plateau started. And the only thing I could really find was that I have started to eat a lot of sugar since then. Basically either one or two of my meals every day started consisting of ice cream, chocolate or candy. The only reason I didn't think of this before is because I still always made sure to weigh the amount I ate and make sure it fits into my day. I also never really gained weight. I just stayed between 130 lbs and 135. Every day I gain some and then I immediatly lose it the next day with no change in my deficit.
To be clear, I am a devout believer of CICO so I really don't think that the sugary meals are somehow blocking my diet. However, I do wonder whether eating that much sugar somehow messes with your digestion or causes some weird water retention. Or maybe the reason I suddenly have a sweet tooth could be the actual cause of my plateau. I have no idea. Has anyone here ever tried to diet with a high sugar diet? I'm only asking out of curiosity, because I will definitly cut the sugar out to see if that will finally end my plateau.
