One fifth of the way there!

Just wanted to make a post to keep me motivated. I started trying to lose weight 2 months ago but I found this subreddit today. This is my first post so I thought I'd give my story. 4 years ago I was 150 pounds and an avid runner (I was doing 50-60 miles a week). Unfortunately I started to have depressive episodes and dropped out of school, stopped exercising and started gaining weight. It took me 3 and a half years to get a diagnosis of bipolar disorder and medicine that really helped me out. Started back to school last semester and figured it was time to lose some weight.

I'm 20 pounds down so far. I just started by eating salad everyday for lunch but started to get really serious about losing weight about a week ago after I saw some positive results. Just started to exercise again for the first time in 4 years and started a real diet 3 meals a day. So far so good. I have a long road ahead of me but seeing as I'm one fifth of the way there I can't help but be optimistic. I'll check in when I lose another 20, hopefully in 2 months!
