Damn it, bourbon! We've always been friends. You've kept a comfortable, moderate, happy place in my life for years. Never a problem, never too much. After a long day, a drink or two is nice and relaxing. You've always made Sunday cleaning and yard work more enjoyable. Friday night pool and darts just aren't the same without you. Why do you have to be such a calorically dense asshole?
This is not a cry for help. I don't have a drinking problem. I have a calorie problem. I'm only venting my frustration. It's just, at 1200 calories a day, it's really hard to work in a couple of drinks here and there and it's something I enjoy. I'm doing great staying under my calories in terms of food. I plan my meals, I stick to the plan, I eat well. But, 1200 calories doesn't leave a lot of room for extras. Particularly when that extra isn't going to make me feel full.
At 100 calories per shot, I can use up 25% of my daily calories in 3 drinks. 300 calories for 4.5 ounces of liquid. That sucks. That's a 1/2 cup of Ben and Jerry's. 20 ounces of Mt. Dew. 3 1/2 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Someone needs to make a good, diet-bourbon. All the alcohol, but half the calories :) There's diet soda. Diet ice cream. Diet cookies, and candies, and brownies. I want diet bourbon!
