Starting the clinic we were told that the goal for us all was to lose 10% of our body weight, and that would be seen as a success. Looking at the data of the clinics a good portion reached that goal, but far more didn't quite reach that but lost some amount of weight. when I started I was at 170kg, went up to 171kg by my first real appointment, and very slowly lost weight over the next few months. At my June appointment (start of June) I weighed 168kg, and decided I wanted to start tracking my calories and excercising more. Today was my July appointment, and I had lost pretty much 10kg in those 6 weeks. Overall I've lost 13kg, with only 4 more to go before I've lost that full 10%. I'm honestly blown away at how it's gone. Even the dietician was surprised, telling the visiting dietician that "we don't normally see numbers like that" when she saw how much I'd lost since my last appointment.
I'm so happy and so proud at the progress I'm making. When I started I was pretty certain I'd be one of the people who didn't quite make it but had lost a bit of weight at least, but now I know I can really do it, and keeping doing it.
Also, next weekend is the first time I get so see my family since losing 10kg, and I am VERY excited to see them. Up until now every time I visited I was slightly dreading them commenting on my weight-gain, but this time I've lost! And it's noticeable!
