I (20M) just felt like I had to tell someone since I have no one to talk to. I’ve been the fat kid since kindergarten and have never been able to keep up with my peers in terms of physical activity. I’ve done wall push ups and the cross legged thingy but I’ve never done the real thing right.
I used to get made fun of for failing the push-up portion on the Fitnessgram test or for failing them in football practice.
I’m a pretty big guy despite how fat I am, so despite lifting weights it looked bad that I couldn’t do a single real push-up without straining myself. It was pretty demoralizing tbh although I’d occasionally try to see if I could yet.
I’ve been pretty on and off with my weight loss, probably because I did it mostly for aesthetics before, but lately I kinda chilled and stopped calorie counting and only lost weight for health reasons. Made it easier to sustain.
Today I’m 25 pounds away from my goal which is shocking to say. Almost 120 pounds have been lost and I feel good. I realized I hadn’t tried a push-up in a while and went for it and that was that. I don’t know why I wrote this all out, I’m just a little proud of it.
