Over a year after my first post, I finally found a form of exercise I’m passionate about

Around a year ago, I (19F) made a post on this sub talking about being at my all time heaviest weight, and battling my binge eating disorder. Since then, I’ve gained only a few lbs, but continued to find all exercise triggering and had no control over my binging. Just recently, I tried doing Brazillian jiu jitsu with my dad, and totally fell in love. My dad has been doing jiu jitsu for over 20 years, and owns a dojo, granting me a totally judgment free zone where I feel completely safe and supported. I’ve also decided not to focus on my weight; I’m working with a therapist on my eating disorder, and am starting to gain more control over my eating habits. I’m going to follow my therapists advice, and continue jiu jitsu with my dad. Wherever my weight goes, I’m just gonna do my best to be ok with it. This definitely wasn’t the success story I was hoping to be a year ago, but I’m still feeling really proud of myself and excited to be on the right track.
