Changing my medications made a world of difference

20F; 5'5; HW: 180 lbs, CW: 155 lbs >>> -25 lbs since JANUARY 2023!!!!

DISCLAIMER: I am not saying this is possible for everyone. I knew this was what was going to happen based off of previous situations; I just wanted to gush and share my excitement because I finally found what works! I'm not a medical expert, nor can I give clinical or reliable general advice on this, especially since I am relatively young and I have no idea how anything actually works. If you have questions or comments about specific things, I am more than willing and happy to share!

Guys. I've been so happy with my progress in the last few months. I started my battles with intense weight fluctuations at a very young age since my mother, who is a tiny woman, warned me that I am more susceptible to "getting fat" because my dad is clinically obese and "it's in my genes". Unsurprisingly, I had a restrictive ED (in addition to undiagnosed anxiety and autism) for several years until I got on abilify for the first time around 2 years ago. Abilify saved my life in terms of mental status, but it made me gain weight from 120 to 145 in literally 2 months (hooray metabolism manipulation and increased hunger).

I had to get off of abilify because of dosing and insurance issues and immediately lost the weight and was back to a confident 130 in just a few months. A few months off of abilify, I realized abilify was my holy grail for my mental health and I went back on it, but this time I went from 130 to 180 by the end of 2022. I had never thought I would get so close to obesity in my life. Not only that, but the rapid weight gain strained my knees, other joints, lung capacity, and general health. I tried Lamictal and just as I suspected I immediately lost such a huge chunk of weight. Not to mention my mental health is still great!

I'm getting constant compliments from my sisters and mom, my clothes fit great, I have the energy to go to the gym, and I finally feel like I'm getting my confidence back. So happy!
