Hit my goal weight today! -101 lb in 11 months.

It's been a bit of a journey and I'll keep it fairly short, but I'm happy to answer any questions that anyone has about specifics.

6'3“ 300lb to 199lb (<25 BMI). April 2022 to March 1st 2023.

I'm 31M and here's a brief timeline:

-Packed on weight in high school and started college about 100lb overweight

-Dropped a bunch of weight after my freshman year through keto, then yoyo'd a bit before hitting a low weight of about 215 at the end of my senior year. I connected with a buddy who was very good at getting me out exercising (hiking, biking, etc) and developing better habits.

-Graduated, started a desk job, entered a LTR, got lazy, any put all the weight back on 🙃

-April 2022: Said LTR ended and I bought a house in an area more conducive to my being active. Started going lower-carb and being more conscious of caloric intake. Doing projects on the house kept me occupied/active.

-July 2022: weight starts to level out at about 260. I didn't feel comfortable with cutting calories too much more (lest I be hungry all the dang time), so I upped my activity level. Back to regular hiking, and generally trying to get 10k steps a day. At this point, I go essentially sober and drink only socially when out of the house. Typically limited to 1-2 drinks.

-September 2022: at about 245. Bought a Garmin watch and started Couch to 5K. Completed the program in the 8 weeks.

-December 2022: started training for a 10K run. Finished the year at about 205lb.

-March 2023: hit 199lb and started training for a half marathon

Overall method to my madness: Get 10k steps a day (I average closer to 15k), generally avoid carbs and load up on veggies, cut alcohol wayyy back.

Future goals: I've been focusing on fitness rather than losing for a couple months. I plan to keep on keeping on with that, but I think my eventual GW for my current muscle mass will be somewhere in the 175-180 range, which is in the middle of the healthy BMI range.
