Diet:
I'm following a vegan/gluten-free diet with one cheat meal a week after recently recovering from binge eating. Besides the meat, cheese and bread in my sandwich for my cheat meal, I eat absolutely no processed foods. I do not count calories but I try to create a weekly plan of my meals at the beginning of each week, food prep, and then stay within that alotted food by the end of the week. Overall, it usually comes out to 1600 calories a day. That number seems high, but it is almost exclusively made up of vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds. When I do feel hungry at the end of the week with no food left, I'll eat as many veggies as my heart desires. I don't follow strict meal times but generally eat a small breakfast in the morning, mid-morning fruit and then combined lunch and dinner in the late afternoon.
Exercise:
I walk as much as I can, (try to get in 15,000 steps a day) take the stairs, and will be incorpating strength and cardio next week.
Can't believe the progress of one month!
I just want to show that yes, calories matter, but what I often see neglected on this sub is that WHAT you eat matters just as much, for sustainability and health.
