The longer it takes you to lose weight, the better.

The longer you go losing weight, slowly, the longer you are not gaining weight.

**** Seriously! Who hasn't lost weight somewhat quickly, then gained some of it back rather quickly as well. If you are losing weight, slowly, even a little bit, say around 1 lb per week, this is a beautiful miracle, keep doing what you are doing, for as long as possible.

The longer you are at a lower weight, your body gets more "used" to it and doesn't beg as much to put the weight back on.

You are also developing the habit of eating healthier and exercising.

The longer you stick with a routine, the more likely it will stick as a habit, and mentally becomes easier/integrated in your life.

You are also practically maintaining when losing weight slowly, which makes the switch to maintaining easier when you get to your goal, as little to nothing will change.

When you get to your "last 10lbs", it is pretty much impossible to lose more than around 1 lb per week without going crazy, so if you are going somewhat slow through the middle part of your journey (1-2 lbs per week), you will be more prepared for that last stretch as well.

Food for thought!
