So, my annual health check reports came up. My cholesterol is up the roof and so is my weight. The good thing though, all the other vitals (thyroid, glucose fasting and postprandial, live function profile, uric acid), are fine. She said jokingly, "You are fit, like a fat horse. Lose that weight!" She referred me to a nutritionist. I told her honestly what I eat every day and on cheat days.
I did ask the doc if stress contributes to these. 2018 and this year has been really stressful for me. My sibling going through a bad marriage and my dad couldn't take it. He got a mild stroke. This year he was diagnosed with lymphoma. All this while I was away from home due to work and the stress was eating me inside out.
I have returned back home, my dad is healthy and my sibling has moved out of the bad marriage. I need to focus my health and eat right, start logging into myfitnesspal, go on my walks, rejoin my badminton group. I have until the end of this year to make significant progress.
A huge thank you to this community, even when I haven't been doing my part of the deal, reading through all the journeys has made me stick around.
