Needing encouragement and help to get to a healthy spot please and thank you :)

Howdy,

Somewhat long time lurker, first time posting in this sub. 6"2, 233 lbs as of today. Started around August of 2020 somewhere between 252-257 lbs, had my wake-up call when my father (6'6, currently 255) called and said he was right around 260 lbs. Considering the history of obesity and heart issues in our family history, this was my watershed moment. 3 weeks ago I was at my lowest weight since 2017 (225lbs). Since then, it's been a real struggle for me to keep to my diet. My wife has been extremely positive and helpful, but I just cannot beat myself into submission when it comes to late-night snacks. I was a long-time Water Polo player but I mostly swim, ride my bike, walk a lot, and lift weights. What are some of the ways that you all have been able to keep yourself from mentally craving late-night snacks? As it stands right now, I know the only thing standing between me and my goal (215lbs), is my diet. Any tips or basics that would be helpful?
