Like a lot of people I’ve observed on this subreddit, I used food to heal emotions a lot. I’ve done therapy and I’ve done a lot of work on myself. I am aware of that struggle, but it doesn’t mean wanting to soothe with food goes away! I had a dilemma this evening where I left work after a very stressful day. Most days, I’d hit a drive thru and grab an ice cream. Or stop at the gas station to grab some cookies. Kind of life a reward for getting through the day and to have something I enjoy at the end of the day. I’m curious what you folks have found to do instead? Tonight I went for a drive after work before deciding what to do. I ended up going home, making my favourite smoothie and drinking it in the tub watching my favourite show. May sound silly but it did help! Curious to some other options though :)
