I’ve been doing keto for two weeks now and it’s been fine. I’ve lost some water weight. I’m planning on sticking to keto for another two weeks. I feel like it’s helping me learn to say no to my binging tendencies. I like it for the fact it’s breaking that bad food habit. I’m going on vacation and I’m going to have cheat days, which will completely knock me out of ketosis. Everything I’ve read about keto cheat days is that you will gain a ton of water weight. And then to lose it again you have to go through the awful first two weeks of keto again. However, keto isn’t sustainable for me. I have big events that I want to be able to eat what I want at. And I don’t want to have to go through the roller coaster of gaining a ton of water weight then going through the Keto Flu for each event. I’m fine with counting my calories.
So my question is, is there a way to avoid losing the pounds of water weight? (That doesn’t involve sticking to keto...) and if the water weight is inevitable, will a CICO diet with exercise help me lose the water weight fairly quickly? I plan to stay away from junk food on a typical day. High protein and veggie diet with whole grains.
