Trying to turn fat into muscle, what should I do?

I'm a 21 year old male, about 230 lbs and 6"3. Lowest I've healthily been was about 180, but with basically zero muscle mass. What are the best workouts to turn the muscle into fat? Main points I'd like to improve on visually would be my gut and my chest/breast area, but everything could use improvement for sure.

As for diet, it's pretty atrocious and I'm also a terribly picky eater when it comes to certain things. So what are the best diet options and eating schedules? If I could get the broadest options for healthy/beneficial food choices, that would be the best.

Any help on either topic would be greatly appreciated, I think it's about time I do something about myself but have no idea where to start.
