What has helped me stay on track

It’s not like I didn’t have freedom over what I ate before. I spent a year working at home to after graduating hs to save money for school, so I had my own schedule. I was, more or less, in charge of what I ate entirely, except for dinners. My parents would always prepare something for dinner and I would always eat it, regardless of if I’d eaten a lot that day or not. There were always things in the house to eat, not super unhealthy snacks, but lots of snacks nonetheless. And always dark chocolate, which can be overdone so so easily. When I would get off from work I would just want to eat everything in sight, and the same thing for my second job when I would get home at 11pm and have eat the equivalent of another meal. I would always be thinking about food. So the best thing that happened: I moved out! I went away to college, and after a period of 3 months going a little crazy with food, I probably gained around 4kg (9~ pounds). But after all the novelty of freedom wore off, I’ve found it a lot easier because I get to plan everything and work it into my schedule. I’m the only one in charge. Basically I have class from 9-1pm everyday, have coffee in the morning, then a really big lunch with my friends at 1, library until 5 and then kimbap or oatmeal for dinner. I absolutely do not keep food in my room. If it is there, I will eat it. (which I understand is not the most financially viable, but hey, i’m not going to venture up to my shared kitchen that 15 other people also use) And it’s a pain in the butt hole to go out and get food whenever a craving strikes. So it’s effective. I’ve stopped eating dessert everyday, i usually have 1-2 a week. I could probably count the number of days I’ve gone without sweets in the last 5 years on one hands. Idk if this applies to anyone else or benefits anyone here, but living on my own has helped with my self discovery of what does and does not work for me.
